Dr. Stephany C. Coakley, an experienced sport psychology consultant is the founder/director of Maximum Mental Training Associates (MMTA) LLC, a performance psychology consulting business. She works with athletes and coaches at all levels of participation from youth sport to elite performers. She is a passionate consultant who trains, motivates and empowers individuals to apply the mental skills that they develop to enhance performances in all areas of life. As a licensed professional counselor Dr. Coakley works with athletes who have clinical and performance issues. She earned both her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and Master’s Degree in Counseling Psychology from Temple University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She received her Doctor of Philosophy Degree in Sport and Exercise Science with a concentration in Sport Psychology from the University of North Carolina in Greensboro, North Carolina. She specializes in: sport transition periods, injury and rehabilitation, body image, Military performance enhancement, positive youth development through sport and physical activity, gender issues in sport and minorities in sport.
Abby Keenan is a sport psychology consultant and facilitator in private practice in the metro Atlanta area. She has her Master’s in Sport Psychology from Florida State University and is a Certified Consultant through the Association for Applied Sport Psychology (CC-AASP). She has been training athletes to use mental skills for six years, and specializes in working with competitive youth swimmers. She has worked with a variety of sports and levels of athletes, from beginners to Olympic Trials qualifiers and professionals. Abby also supported Army Special Operations Soldiers at Fort Bragg. While there, she designed the cognitive training curriculum for the Psychological Operations Qualification Course, taught learning and memory strategies within the Language and Combat Medic schools, and created team building events for operational units. She co-founded Intrepid Performance Consulting in 2015, and in the past year has been involved in the AASP Certification Exam Review process as a subject matter expert, writing and reviewing exam questions.
Dr. Millhouse is a licensed psychologist and has been in private practice as a Clinical Sport Psychologist in the North Atlanta area since 1987. He was appointed to the USOC in 1985 as a Clinical Sport Psychologist, Research Sport Psychologist and Educational Sport Psychologist. He has worked at Michigan State University, Georgia State University, Auburn University, Georgia Tech and as a performance consultant to the United States Army. He has worked with amateur and professional athletes in most sports including golf, tennis, football, baseball, softball, basketball, hockey, boxing, gymnastics, skating and soccer. Dr. Millhouse was a founding member of the United States association of applied sport psychology (AASP). He has worked with numerous professional teams, well over 30 Olympic and World champions, and was the Sport Psychologist for the United States Army wrestling team that set numerous military and Olympic records during the 1996 Olympics.
